This method involves measuring the temperature inside the room using a thermometer. A digital display on the thermometer shows the current reading. It would be best if you placed it near the wall where you want to measure the temperature. If there is no window nearby, use a small hole at the top of the door frame. Place the thermometer so that it gets maximum exposure to sunlight. Make sure that the thermometer does not touch any other object like furniture or walls.

Also, make sure that the thermometer has been calibrated before placing it in the room. Calibration ensures the accuracy of measurement.

This method involves measuring relative humidity. RH refers to the amount of water vapor present in the atmosphere. Relative Humidity indicates how much moisture is available compared to saturation level. Saturation means when the air becomes saturated with water vapor. When the air is dry, it contains less than 10% of water vapor.

On the contrary, if the air is very humid, it may contain more than 90%. To determine the percentage of relative humidity, take two identical containers. One container should have distilled water, while another one should have de-ionized water. Fill both the containers up to half their capacity. Now put them side by side. Note down the difference between the levels of water in each container. This gives us the relative humidity value.

For example, if the first container holds 5 cm of water and the second container has 7cm, the relative humidity would be 50%.

Rain Gauge

This method requires a special kind of gauge called “Rain Gauge.” They come in different sizes depending upon the size of the area they cover. Barometric Pressure Device

This method works based on the principle of atmospheric pressure. As the name suggests, it detects changes in atmospheric pressure and the gauge used to detect that is called “Barometer“. Most of the time, people think about barometric pressure only during severe storms such as hurricanes. However, it is essential to know that barometric stress affects our daily life too.

During the summer months, high temperatures cause low barometric pressures. Conversely, cold nights lead to higher barometric pressures. Therefore, knowing the change in barometric pressure helps predict upcoming weather patterns.
